Privacy Policy | Ballon d'Or AI

How Ballon d'Or AI handles the photo you upload, your award-night videos, credit purchases and cookies: what we gather, how long we hold it and how to exercise your privacy rights.
oct. 10, 2026

The terms below have applied to Ballon d'Or AI since 15 October 2026.

1. About This Policy

Ballon d'Or AI runs an independent fan tool at ballondorai.video (the "Service") that turns one photo of an adult into a short vertical award-night video. In this Privacy Policy we set out which pieces of information reach us while you use it, why we need them, who else handles them, how long they stay with us and what we do to keep them safe.

2. Data We Receive and Handle

Not every visitor gives us the same data; it varies with the features you actually use. In practice it falls into these groups:

  • Account details: the name and email address on your account, the identifiers your login method provides, profile fields, saved preferences and session records.
  • Render details: the single photo you submit as the appearance reference, the award template and video model you pick, any options you set, the finished MP4 files, the progress of each job, the list of videos in My Creations and the times at which each of these events happened.
  • Purchase and plan details: the credit pack or monthly plan you chose, your current credit balance, order numbers, the outcome of each charge, your billing email, invoice information, renewal state and limited transaction metadata. Your full card number is entered with the payment processor directly and never lands on our servers.
  • Device and usage details: your IP address, browser, device model and operating system, which pages and features you visit, when requests are made, crash and error logs, performance readings and the signals we watch for abuse.
  • Messages to us: support emails, reports about content, privacy requests, product feedback and whatever correspondence follows from them.
  • Cookies and comparable storage: small pieces of data that hold your login, protect your session, recall your language or display settings, count visits and let the core tool run.

3. What We Do With It

We put this information to work in order to:

  • Provide the award video tool, along with your account, My Creations, monthly plans and credit balance
  • Check who you are when you log in, keep you logged in and help you get back into an account you cannot open
  • Pass your photo, together with the prompt behind the template you selected, to the chosen video model, then hand the rendered MP4 back to you
  • Take payments, add or subtract credits (including automatic refunds for renders that fail or get blocked), prepare invoices and deal with cancellations or refund requests
  • Catch banned uploads, fraud, security incidents and other misuse
  • Debug renders that did not finish, watch how fast pages load, learn which models are chosen most and improve the Service
  • Handle questions about support, reported videos, legal matters and privacy
  • Comply with the law and hold users to our Terms of Service

Depending on where you live, we lean on different legal bases for this processing: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in a working and safe Service, obligations the law places on us, and, whenever the law makes it a precondition, your consent.

4. Your Photo and the Award Videos Made From It

To produce your video, the chosen model has to process the photo you uploaded, your settings and the resulting output, which means this material may be passed to outside providers of AI models, hosting, storage and safety screening. At present a single model family powers every render: ByteDance Seedance video models, listed in the tool as Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5 and reached through the API provider Kie. Text-to-video and image generation are not features of the Service. Should we add or swap a model, this list will be updated.

When your photo contains a face, it serves only as the look reference for the video you asked for. We neither derive facial-recognition templates from it nor use it to work out who someone is. Please submit only pictures of yourself, or of adults who have said yes to being turned into a video, and keep out any confidential material or personal data you have no right to pass on. Automated safety checks may scan both the photos you send and the videos the model returns to stop prohibited content and abuse.

5. Cookies and Usage Measurement

Some cookies, or similar browser storage, are strictly necessary: they hold your login, guard your account and keep the tool itself running. Beyond those, we may run preference and analytics tools that remember what you set, tally how features are used, pinpoint slow pages and help us refine the Service.

Your browser settings let you control most cookies. If you block the essential ones, expect to be signed out and to find the video tool no longer works. In places where non-essential analytics need your consent by law, those tools stay off until you give it.

6. Who Receives Information

Personal information is never sold. We pass on only the portion each of these recipients needs:

  • AI model and content-safety providers that handle your photo and the generated video for the model you picked or for safety screening
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers that keep the Service online and hold the uploaded photos and finished MP4 files
  • Payment providers that process credit packs and monthly plans, refunds, fraud checks and tax or invoicing obligations, which may be Stripe or another processor named on the checkout page
  • Login, email, analytics, monitoring and support providers that help us run and protect the Service
  • Authorities or other third parties where a law or legal process compels it, or where we reasonably and in good faith judge that disclosure is needed to protect users, rights, safety or the integrity of the Service
  • A successor business should the Service be part of a merger, acquisition, financing round, restructuring or asset sale, subject to suitable safeguards

Our contracts confine each of these providers to the specific job we gave it, and oblige it to treat the data as confidential and guard it properly.

7. How Long We Keep Data

Information stays with us for no longer than is reasonably needed to run the Service, keep your My Creations history, protect security, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and satisfy legal, tax, accounting or regulatory obligations.

  • While your account remains open, or while history features remain enabled, we may hold your account and render details.
  • Uploaded photos and finished award videos may remain in My Creations or in the storage the Service needs in order to deliver them.
  • Records of purchases and transactions may be held for as long as tax, accounting, payment, anti-fraud and dispute rules demand.
  • Security logs and support files may be held for a reasonable period set by operational and legal needs.

After we have verified a request to delete your data or close your account, the personal data that qualifies is erased or de-identified within 30 calendar days. Copies inside encrypted backups may persist for no more than an additional 90 days before the normal backup rotation writes over them. A limited set of records may be held past those windows where we need them for legal compliance, fraud prevention, chargebacks, settling disputes or defending legal claims.

8. Rights You Can Exercise

Privacy laws differ from country to country, so some or all of these rights may be available to you:

  • To learn which categories of personal data we collect, what we use them for and who we pass them to
  • To see your personal data or get a copy
  • To have wrong or incomplete account details fixed
  • To have eligible personal data erased and your account closed
  • To restrict, or object to, particular kinds of processing
  • To receive certain data in a portable format that a machine can read
  • To take back consent wherever consent is our basis
  • To stop marketing emails at any time while still getting receipts and security notices
  • To lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your home country

Making a request

Email support@ballondorai.video from the address registered to your account and put Privacy Request or Account Deletion Request in the subject line. Say which action you want, whether access, correction, export, restriction, objection, closing the account or deletion, and identify the account or data involved.

To make sure we never hand over or erase someone else's information, we may ask you for reasonable proof of identity. Once a request reaches us, we acknowledge and carry out every eligible one inside 30 calendar days. If a request is complex and the law allows extra time, we will tell you why it is taking longer and give you a revised date for completion. You can also change your name and some other profile fields on your own from Settings.

Even after an account is closed, we keep the payment, security, fraud and dispute records that the law obliges us to retain, or that we legitimately need, to protect the Service and its users.

9. Cross-Border Transfers

Your information may be handled by the Service and its providers in countries other than the one you live in. When the law calls for it, we cover these transfers with suitable protections, for example contractual clauses, recognized adequacy arrangements and restricted access.

10. Keeping Data Secure

To protect information we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, among them encrypted connections, access restrictions, protected credentials, activity logging and, where suitable, content-safety and anti-abuse screening. Even so, no online service can guarantee that its security is flawless.

If a breach involving personal data comes to light and it is one we are legally bound to report, affected users and the relevant regulators will hear from us inside the deadline set by law.

11. Children

The Service is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from them. If the laws that apply to you set a higher minimum age, you must meet that age too. No photo of a minor may be uploaded to be turned into a video. If you think a child has given us personal information, let us know and we will investigate and remove the eligible data.

12. Outside Sites and Services

Links or connections to third-party services may appear in the Service, such as the social apps where you might post your award video. Those services follow their own privacy policies, and data they gather on their own falls outside this Privacy Policy.

13. Updates to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may change when the Service, the providers we rely on or the law changes. Any new version will appear on this page with a fresh date at the top, and if the law calls for extra notice of a material change, we will provide it.

14. How to Reach Us

Privacy questions and data requests (access, correction, export, objection or deletion) all go to the same place:
